“Orhionmwon Set To Get First Area Command” – EDSOGPADEC BOSS, As Police Score Gov. Obaseki High

As part of measures to continually make Edo State a safe haven for the people and investors, the Edo State Government through the interventionist agency, the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, EDSOGPADEC, has assured of the speedy completion of the Police Area Command Office in Uromehe which is the first Area Command Office in the whole of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State since advent of democracy in the state.

The Chairman of EDSOGPADEC, Pastor Kennedy Osifo, gave the  assurance on behalf of the Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, at Uromehe in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the State, Thursday, while leading the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, CP Philip Ogbadu, ably represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, DCP Miller Dantawaye including other members of the board on an inspection tour of the newly converted Divisional Headquarters to the Area Command Office.

Addressing the CP, the EDSOGPADEC boss, said that though the plan for the structure was for that of the Divisional Headquarters, but having considered the fact that there is no existing Area Command Office in the whole of the Local Government Area, the Edo State Government, through his Commission, opted for the building of the first Area Command Office to serve the people in terms of securing lives and properties effectively and efficiently.

He said that the building is in line with the laid down specifications of Mr. Governor, especially with regard to the Make Edo Great Again, MEGA, agenda, saying it will enhance formidable security architecture in the locality to compete with the international best practices.

Osifo, asserted that plans are on top gear to build housing accommodation for the Officers that would be posted to the area Command.

In his remarks, the elated DCP Dantawaye, representing CP Ogbadu, expressed appreciation to Governor Godwin Obaseki, for rescuing the people and giving succor to the police arising from the Security challenges by this gigantic project, pointing out that the Area Command’s building is amazing, particularly against the backdrop of the serene environment and the standard facilities therein, which according to him, will propel the officers that  would be posted to the office to achieve the set objectives in terms of adequate policing.

He assured of his dispositions to deliver the good message to his boss, just as he had also reiterated the need to add more offices to give the building a standard Area Command Office likened to those in the urban areas, while assuring of safe use of the facilities to achieve the desired results.

Also, the jubilant Uromehe elders and people, thanked Gov. Obaseki and EDSOGPADEC board for remembering them at this critical stage of economic crunch, especially in view of the fact that it is the first laudable achievement, saying the building of the Area Command Office would speed up the development of the area.

In the same vein, Charles Aideyan Esq, representing Orhionmwon on the board, said that he was delighted to be part of the success story, especially in view of the fact that is his time on the board that Orhionmwon Local Government Area is experiencing turn around in developments, assuring of more projects to be sited, just as he had thanked Governor Obaseki for these transformational feats

Osifo, opined that as at the time the Police Station is completed, the Governor can now hand over it to the police authority for use, stressing that the Uromehe Police Station was started 12 years ago by the previous administrations of the board, without completion, but that this present administration has changed the narratives by this befitting structure, stressing, Orhionmwon people deserve  the best.
